Dear Congressman Cummings,
Thank you for your letter of February 13 asking me for more information regarding my request to you for assistance. I believe I am eligible for protection under the Dawson family legislation you have promoted. My attempt to deal with the drug scene in Baltimore’s Charles Village has resulted in my being fired from my employment with the State of Maryland and also in my losing a business which was publishing a monthly newsaper reporting on the arts in Baltimore which I called THE CHARLES STREET PAPER.
I request that you refer me for possible assistance to the Victim/Witness Assistance Unit of the U.S. Attorney’s office. I am particularly interested in having secured as crime scenes my apartment at 3101 Guilford Avenue in the city and also a garage I rent for storage from Frederick Realtors.which is located at Garage Number 2, 32nd and Calvert. Both locations contain paper and electronic information relevant to my case. I note from the newspapers that Baltimore City State’s Attorney Patricia Jessamy feels that reporting in cases like mine should be located in the offices of the Maryland State Police. I agree, since such cases may involve crossing jurisdictional lines. It also occurs to me that similar reporting systems might be established to allow reporting of government mismanagement. Such a system might have helped avoid the recent tragedy resulting in the death of a Baltimore City Fire Department trainee.
